SMS Employees Rewarded for Outstanding Performance on FDA Project

McLean, VA | February 5, 2007 -- SMS Data Products Group, Inc., a leading enterprise network services company, recently announced that several SMS employees received awards for outstanding performance on the ongoing contract with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In December 2006 the FDA honored Project Lead Mike Maloney, along with Troy Ward, Asad Hasan and Bob Bauer for outstanding service.

SMS has been performing professional services on the FDA contract for more than 3 years. This contract was established to support the FDA Consolidation Project and the White Oak Campus. When completed we will have supported the relocation of over 10,000 employees to the FDA’s 14 new buildings on the growing campus in White Oak, Maryland. SMS provides overall program management and engineering services for several ongoing projects. These projects including Network Management, VOIP Phone System, VTC, and Video to the Desktop; Wireless LAN; Cellular and 2-Way Radio Signal Distribution System; and Coordination of all Verizon provided services to the White Oak campus including: Network, SONNET Ring, LiteSpan, Phones, TV1 Circuits, etc.

As each new building on the new campus is brought on-line, SMS is responsible for full life cycle activities for each of these projects. This includes Requirements Assessment and Physical Site Surveys; Engineering Design and Proof of Solution Pilot Testing; Systems Acquisition, Installation, Configuration and Acceptance Testing; Inventory Management and Control; Configuration Management; Quality Assurance and Quality Control Planning and Execution; Systems Maintenance Support (Preventive, Proactive and Reactive); Administration and End-User Training; Trouble Call and Help Desk Services; and Short and Long Term Operational and IT Systems Strategic Planning.
