SMS Data Products Group Inc. joins General Dynamics Team on the Above-Ground Telecommunications Backbone contract

McLean, VA | July 1, 2002 -- SMS Data Products Group, Inc. (SMS) today announced that it has engaged with General Dynamics (GD) to provide network design and implementation services in support of the Pentagon Renovation Above-Ground Telecommunications Backbone contract.

Since the inception of the Pentagon Renovation effort in 1994, SMS has been providing network architecture and engineering services for the Pentagon Renovation Program, Information Management and Telecommunications (IM&T) office, first as the Lead Subcontractor under the NCR TEMPO contract and subsequently under its own GSA schedule. Under these engagements, SMS has designed and implemented highly relevant network architectures for Swing Space, Segment 1 and A-Ring Renovation areas. These efforts led directly to the on-schedule relocation of over 90 organizational networks, totaling over 7,000 users (about 10,000 end stations/nodes). These projects occurred during Phase 1 of the Renovation effort and now SMS will continue to provide engineering services and play an important role in Phase 2 under the GD ATB contract.
