McLean, VA | June 6th, 2022 – SMS announced today a new executive position and appointment.
Effective immediately, Mr. Chuck Luedke will assume the role of Chief Technology Officer, reporting to SMS President and CEO Matt Rosecan. Mr. Luedke has served at SMS for nearly 25 years, leading the company’s flagship programs at Pentagon Joint Services Program (JSP) and Information Technology Agency (ITA), as well as most recently DISA’s Joint Regional Security Stacks (JRSS). In support of JRSS, Mr. Luedke developed the DevOps needed to build the solution “in flight” with active production users while expanding a single regional security stack into fifteen globally and migrating over 250 DoD sites with nearly 2 million users. At the Pentagon, Mr. Luedke served as CTO under the Lockheed Martin ITA Operations contract as an SMS employee, and was also chief architect for the ITA during the Pentagon Renovation Program and the post-9/11 Command and Control Survivability Program.
As SMS CTO, Chuck will be establishing the company’s engineering and technology vision and leading the Office of the CTO which will include Andrew Stanley, Director of Engineering; Jeremy Savoy, Director, Xas-a-Service Solutions; Steven Hyde, Director of Corporate IT; John Madore, Deputy Director of Engineering; and Dr. Jose Nabielsky will be serving as Chief Scientist.

From his two decades of service in the US Marines Corps through his pioneering of huge Federal initiatives as a contractor with SMS, Chuck has overcome challenges and made the people around him better along the way, and we are very excited for him to serve now in our new CTO position”, said Matt Rosecan. “His experience, knowledge, and understanding of how to execute and drive large-scale engineering programs forward within the Defense Department and Federal Government is extremely unique, and has practically defined some of SMS’ most significant accomplishments over the past two decades. As SMS continues to advance and mature in the Federal IT market space, we recognize the importance of having an engineering and technology vision at the center of our business model, and Chuck provides that,” add Rosecan. “Chuck has been key to SMS’ growth and he has earned a great deal of respect at every level of our organization as well as with our customers and partners.”
