Celebrating Scott Darwin’s Dedication to Excellence

After seven years of exemplary service, Scott Darwin, Vice President of Service Delivery, retires this week from SMS. Scott’s tenure has been defined by his steady leadership, operational excellence, and unwavering commitment to both our teams and our customers.
Scott joined SMS in 2018 as the Air Force NETCENTS II Program Manager, quickly earning a reputation for transforming challenging programs into success stories through a clear, practical approach and a deep commitment to team success. Over the years, he advanced through key roles—including Senior Director of Service Delivery—before being promoted to Vice President in 2024. In this capacity, Scott led all aspects of project and program management, operations, and corporate strategy, consistently delivering results across highly successful programs.
Scott’s leadership style is rooted in transparency, approachability, and a relentless focus on the end goal. He is known for simplifying complex problems, identifying root causes, and formulating actionable plans that bring teams together under a shared vision. His “methodically relentless” mindset inspired those around him to move forward every day, embracing challenges and adapting to change.
Beyond his operational expertise, Scott’s genuine care for people has shaped the culture of SMS. He has always prioritized the growth and success of his teams, empowering others to take ownership and preparing future leaders for continued excellence. His influence extends beyond his immediate organization, leaving a lasting impact on how SMS delivers innovative solutions and supports our federal customers’ missions.
Scott’s commitment to service extended into the broader community as well. Since the inception of SMS’ Veterans Advisory Council, Scott served as Vice Chair, helping to guide the Council’s mission and champion the interests of Veterans within the company. As a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, Scott served with honor as an Army Ranger and retired at the rank of Captain. His leadership and advocacy played a foundational role in shaping the Council’s direction and impact.
As Scott embarks on his well-earned retirement, we thank him for his years of dedicated service, thoughtful leadership, and the legacy he leaves behind. Please join us in congratulating Scott Darwin and wishing him all the best in his next chapter.
