McLean, VA | March 3, 2026 SMS Data Products Group, Inc. (SMS) announced today that it has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2, following an independent third-party assessment conducted by NSF, a Certified Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO).
CMMC Level 2 is aligned to NIST SP 800-171 and includes 110 security requirements designed to protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) across people, processes, and technology. The certification validates SMS’ ability to safeguard sensitive government information within a defined CUI boundary and supports continued delivery of mission-critical capabilities to defense customers.

SMS’ CMMC Level 2 scope applies to a defined enclave designed for secure handling of CUI, including Microsoft Cloud PC infrastructure, PreVeil secure email and file storage, and supporting Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Sentinel services, with controls for encryption, access management, and continuous monitoring.
With CMMC Level 2 certification in place, SMS is positioned to support programs that require verified handling of CUI and to reduce friction for customers who must flow down cybersecurity requirements across their supply chain.
