SMS Announces the Appointment of New Chief General Counsel Neil Belden

McLean, VA | May 25, 2007 – SMS, a leading IT services provider and systems integration firm with nearly 40 years of experience providing IT solutions to the Federal Government, announced today that effective immediately Neil Belden will assume the role of Chief General Counsel for SMS.

Mr. Belden brings 18 years of integrated legal, engineering and management experience to his new role within the company and has served SMS for four years in the role of Technical Director. In his new capacity within the company, Mr. Belden reviews and advises on government and commercial contracts and handles all aspects of corporate law, ethics and litigation.

Mr. Belden received his J.D. from Vermont Law School and a B.A. in Mathematics from Hamilton College and is a member of the New York State and District of Columbia bars. Mr. Belden holds many industry certifications including CISSP, CCNA, MCSE, and CCA and also sits on the SANS GCUX Advisory Board. Prior to joining SMS, Mr. Belden was employed by Telos Corporation as a Network Security Engineer and served as the Information Assurance Manager at the Pentagon. His private law practice culminated as a senior partner at Artabane & Belden, P.C. where he focused on civil litigation matters involving government contracts, intellectual property and employment law.
