McLean, VA | November 30, 2012 – SMS, a leading provider of IT solutions and professional services to the Federal Government, announced today it has been awarded part of the Infrastructure Support Services (ISS) Contract from the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) working with contract prime, General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) of Fairfax, Virginia.

The team was awarded the five year contract providing support and personnel to DeCA with systems architecture, engineering and other IT services. The $18.8 million dollar contract unseated an incumbent contract holder of over 17-years and represents a key change for the agency and a successful win for both SMS and GDIT.

Throughout the potential five-year contract duration worth approximately $1.4 billion dollars, SMS will provide worldwide support carrying out required engineering, transition, implementation, integration; connection approval and IT service management activities, in support of existing and future Defense Information System Network (DISN) networking capabilities. SMS’ services will predominantly be within the continental United States, however, support services may also be required at multiple overseas locations.
