SMS Announces New Chief Technology Officer

McLean, VA |  June 29, 2022   SMS announced today the appointment of Mr. Chuck Luedke in the new executive position of Chief Technology Officer.

Chuck joined SMS nearly 25 years ago, leading major efforts such as the Pentagon’s Joint Services Program (JSP) – the former Information Technology Agency (ITA) – and most recently, DISA’s Joint Regional Security Stacks (JRSS). For JRSS, Chuck developed the processes required to build the solution “in flight”. This enabled expansion of a single regional security stack into fifteen globally, maintaining existing services and operations while migrating over 250 DoD sites with nearly 2 million users. At the Pentagon, Chuck served as CTO and Chief Architect for the Information Technology Agency during the Pentagon Renovation Program and the post-9/11 Command and Control Survivability Program.  Chuck served proudly as a Marine for 20 years, retiring with the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.

“Chuck has been a leader at every stage of his career. His experience, knowledge, and understanding of how to execute and drive large-scale engineering programs forward within the Department of Defense is extremely unique. As SMS continues to advance and mature in the Federal IT market space, we recognize the importance of having an engineering and technology vision at the center of our business model, and Chuck provides that,” said Matt Rosecan, President and CEO of SMS. “Chuck has been key to SMS’ growth and he has earned a great deal of respect at every level of our organization as well as with our customers and partners, and I am extremely excited to announce him as our CTO.”
