SMS Awarded Key Army Cable Plant Contract

McLean, VA | September 9, 2010 – SMS, a leading IT services provider and systems integration firm with nearly 40 years of experience providing IT solutions to the Federal Government, announced today it has been awarded the second half of a $10 million IT infrastructure contract with the Department of the Army.

Under this task order, SMS will expand existing fiber optic and copper-wire infrastructure and add 24-miles of new fiber optic cable to meet key war fighter safety and communication training requirements at the Army’s Fort Hunter Liggett in California. SMS will be working with world-class hardware vendors in providing all new underground fiber optic duct-bank system that further help train the Army’s ground infantry for today’s battle field situations.
